The RU’s were put in place to improve the ability to do research by gathering complementary teams. The research expertise built by the RU members has a strong positive impact on teaching and vice-versa.

t the bachelor level, the members of the RU have a very strong implication not only in the Science Faculty but also in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Gembloux Agrobiotech. The same applies in the master level in which the Members of the RU teach specialized course in relation with their research expertise in the chemistry cursus and in other cursus of the Science Faculty and of other Faculties (Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Applied sciences). They take part in International specialized masters (IDS FunMat, IMES Nanofar, collaborations with Vietnam, Brazil, Chile ... A master's degree in analytical sciences will be operational next academic year, based on the Eurlipids project, in collaboration with the University of Maastricht and the company DSM, given the need for specialists in the labor market. The RU teams also organize training courses for unemployed people and in training of industrial teams in new technologies.
